Special Friends Network
The Special Friends Network is an inclusive social group for teens and adults of all abilities.
Our main focus is creating social connections, building friendships and participating in community events. Life skills building, confidence, independence, physical wellness and friendship are all important components when planning each event.
The SFN includes some wonderful volunteers that are peer mentors and supports to our members and help make our events a great success. Any participant that requires one to one supervision, or is not independent or comfortable in a group setting will attend with their own personal support worker, friend or family member.
Some of our most popular gatherings include, Monthly cooking classes, Bowling, Dances, Monthly Book Club and Creative arts events. SFN also strives to provide opportunities for community involvement through Volunteering. We have also connected with youth movements like the WE Schools charity initiatives.
